Surmodics, Inc., a $107m maker of surface modification technologies for intravascular medical devices, has acquired Vetex Medical Ltd, an Ireland–based producer of venous clot removal products. Vetex developed ReVene, a thrombectomy catheter platform that is used to remove, in a single session, large, mixed-morphology blood clots commonly found in venous thromboembolism. Deal value - $40m upfront with milestones up to $7m.
