Koninklijke Philips NV (Royal Philips) (NYSE: PHG), a $19.5b Netherlands-based producer of medical technologies and imaging platforms is acquiring Intact Vascular, Inc., a developer of a minimally invasive implantable device to treat Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), when narrowed blood vessels restrict blood flow to limbs. The acquisition strengthens Philips’ market leading peripheral vascular portfolio which includes advanced interventional imaging systems for precision guidance; intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) catheters to locate disease and assess lesion morphology; peripheral atherectomy devices to remove blockages; and drug-coated balloon Stellarex to treat lesions. Intact Vascular will integrate into Philips’ Image-Guided Therapy business. Deal terms – $360m.
